BJJ works on the principal that almost all combat situations end up on the ground, meaning it has practical real-world value in a street fight.

BJJ is an excellent cardiovascular and muscle building workout where you will be using all your muscle groups, especially targeting the core muscles developing strong abs, lower back and hip flexors.

Effective self-defence training for women as BJJ relies on leverage which would be a definite advantage in a rape situation.

Anyone can learn BJJ.
